Meredith Berry
41:36
A student is permitted to reach out to their teacher for support.
al shilling
42:14
eachers have once/week live lessons for one of the assigned topics. Students get all the information from within the curriculum. We use a checklist for student success to make sure the student has attempted the work first. Teachers do not lecture or talk/teach one on one to students.

They do provide specific help via phone or online or (if possible) in person.

al shilling
52:49
It is possible to "double up" courses. It involves condensing 32 weeks of a class into 16 weeks which can be very challenging

Dual Enrollment is taking college courses at FSW and receiving college credit and high school credit at the same time

Meredith Berry
57:16
Your student will determine their daily schedule. As long as the student is on pace each week, but may be required to attend specific meetings on specific dates/times. This does not happen every week, however.
Meredith Berry
57:59
When LVS students interact with LVS staff, they meet at the Lee County Public Education Center, not a physical school building.
Lisa Blackman-Siddall
01:01:30
@Meredith, I'm so sorry, is that top answer for me? I'm not quite sure, I wasn't so much asking about pace but about what material she is allowed to learn from the start (?)
Meredith Berry
01:03:09
LVS provides all students with a Chromebook. These are issued at the Lee County Public Education Center (LCPEC). The elementary students are also provided with "hard copy" packets which are also distributed at the LCPEC. Books are not provided.
Michelle Turner

Danielle Bailey

Chromebooks are usually distributed at first days of school.
Lisa Blackman-Siddall
01:23:44
She just finished K but did not get her gifted testing due to COVID (it was due by end of March). She "walked up" to first grade reading in Q3 and 4, then in Q4 worked on 2nd grade math (Unofficially, as her K teacher said "she's bored, have her do this instead."). How do I help her start "first grade" in the right spots? Is there placement testing?
Meredith Berry
01:24:49
Mr. Schulz, have your student view this Info Night recording. Once you submit the application, your student will attend the online Orientation. These are great means for your student to be introduced into the LVS world and be able to understand the difference between distance learning and Google Classroom vs LVS.
Danielle Bailey
01:25:12
Our students take the STAR test for reading and math. The elementary teachers would help make sure she is placed accordingly.
Rushita Shah
01:25:25
My daughter is going into 1st grade. Can I do part-time enrollment in LVS ? Is so, is it still full-time in regular school or that will be part-time also?

01:28:26
I'm sorry. what did you say about the Iready program?
Meredith Berry
01:29:10
IReady is a screener to provide the instructors and students more specific data about the student's reading score to know how to better different instruction.
Meredith Berry
01:29:19
It is NOT a placement test.
shanna bryant
01:30:30

MARGARET NAEHRING

Grades 6-12 = 6 courses. Students average 4-6 hours online each day, depending upon the time necessary to ensure pacing.
Jerry Schulz
01:36:15
When are the “I ready tests given?
Meredith Berry
01:36:21
Grades K-5 = 4 courses. Students average 4 hours. This may be a combination of online and paper/pencil activities, depending upon the time necessary to ensuring pacing.
Rushita Shah
01:36:42

Is that also the point at which they will lose their on-ground spot (after we apply, after we talk to Mr. Shilling, after we attend the online orientation, and then after we click "yes" on the final survey to start the registration you need?)
Meredith Berry
01:53:32
Upon indicating "yes" on the survey signals the forward movement to forfeit the brick/mortar seat.

Michelle Turner
